God was and always is on the move!

This week flew by. Our days were packed and full of fun activities. The team had so much fun working with a few established ministry partners and even paved the way with a couple new ones. It was pretty special being at the church a week before Easter because we were able to cut off many palm branches, sand them down, and let them dry for the upcoming Easter service the following Sunday. It was a real honor!

Here’s a few pictures:

Here are some God moments during the week:

“During my mission trip to Hilton Head me and my group were sent to PEP. PEP is an organization for special needs adults. However, I had no experience with special needs adults. I was very nervous and timid as we walked in because I didn’t know what to expect. I sat down and felt like a new kid on the first day of school. The instructor gave everyone an assignment to do and obviously some people needed help. David, unable to write, walks up to me, sits right beside me, and tells me to help him. This man had an attitude! And I loved it. Over the next few hours, I bonded with this 40 something year old man and i developed a new compassion from God. God used David to build in me compassion for these special needs adults. David introduced me to all his friends and before you know it, I’m talking about baseball with a group of people I never thought I would communicate with. Not because they are different but because I had never thought to serve special needs adults. And I loved it! I thank God for this newfound love to serve this particular group of people. And I thank David for being a friend.” – Adison

“Sitting out by the fire with the group sharing 1 thing we learned about the day. I started asking people that and some shared some deep stuff and it turned into a great moment. Also, I felt like the fire in the bowl was controlled by the holy spirit. Every-time we would do devotion, worship, or even just have a conversation about God the fire would start popping and get bigger. I don’t know if others noticed but I felt very connected to the fire as if it was telling me to pay attention to what is going on. Also, thank you Amanda for all the advice about missions and about relationships you have helped me a lot and I will grow from this trip.” – Jaylen

“I was on my drive back home when my car was having issues, so I went to the nearest AutoZone on the island. A man quickly came to my rescue and noticed my shirt; the “when God shows up” one. It was a beautiful conversation starter where I was able to hear his heart and share with him how loved he is by God. I was reminded how something so small. like the clothes you wear, truly have an impact on the lives around you. People are watching and listening!” – Amanda

Leading with this amazing youth group was so sweet! I can’t wait to see where the Father takes them! This trip was sweet!
