Today, our team’s first task was to assist at a local food pantry. Due to COVID, the entire operation had to take place outside. The team assisted those in need by helping them gather the foods they needed, carrying the groceries to their cars, and praying with them. Many people were touched by our efforts to spend time with them. One woman was brought to tears because of the brokenness she felt because of mistakes made in her past. We reassured her that Jesus is able to forgive all of her past if she was willing to receive His forgiveness. She was moved and expressed interest in attending the Wednesday night service at the church hosting us. Later in the afternoon, we visited a children’s center where we and had the opportunity to interact with many kids whose parents were at work. Here, we played with the children and assisted them with their schoolwork. The children who were a part of AIM also enjoyed playing alongside with the local children. Many of these loved the attention and they appreciated the time we spent with them.
