While on a Hilton Head Encounter Family trip with his family, 8 year old Samuel learned a beautiful lesson of how the Lord uses us to build relationships and show others His deep love. This is his story.

" I went with my family to a senior living facility that people who have Alzheimer's disease live at. We were playing a game with them and this one lady, Miss Nancy, kept coming over and hugging me. We did a craft with them and sang songs and she just kept coming back to hug me. Like 20 times! I just kept hugging her back and then God helped me remember something that my project leader Michael had said the night before in his teaching. Michael gave the example of a father and son playing catch. When they do that they are building a relationship with one another. A deeper intimacy and a stronger bond by doing something they both enjoy doing. Michael talked about how the Lord can build a relationship and show others His love by doing something they both enjoy. I got to build a relationship with Miss Nancy and show her God's love through a hug. It was like playing catch like Michael said. Every hug went deeper into our hearts." (Samuel's mom added that everyone at the Memory Center was watching Miss Nancy and Samuels hugs and were so blessed by the sweet interchange. It truly established a relationship.)
