Last summer, I had the opportunity to lead 3 trips through Adventures in Missions to Hilton Head and I loved how God spoke to each and every person on my teams.  Many of my team members came with expections of what was going to happen on the trip and how many people's lives that they would touch.  But instead, each person walked away feeling more encouraged and started to ponder what they can do in their own communities to be the hand and feet of Jesus.

In Hilton Head, we were able to go visit people in nursing homes, play with children at boys and girls club, and we had the opportunity to ministry to people on the beach from all walks of life. In the coming year (2013), Adventures has opportunities for church groups, individuals, youth groups, and families.

I would like to share a quick story from the last mission trip that I went on in July. I met a lady that goes by Deloris.  I went with a couple of other people on my team hoping to give her company and encourage her, but instead she put us straight to work moving wood. She also took the time to share her story and I walked away more grateful for what I have.

A year ago, Deloris couldn't walk and she was using a wheelchair. She has a disease in her body that eats away her muscels. She shared with us that on two seperate occasions, the Holy Spirit came in the form of an Angel asking if she was ready to go home. Deloris said that she wasn't ready to go home because she has too much life left in her. She has been slowly rebuilding her muscels by walking and doing random things around the house. Every step Deloris takes turns into thanksgiving to God for allowing her to begin to walk again. It doesn't matter how small the step is or if she was only able to take one step, she is constantly praising God for His good work in her. Jesus is at work in bringing healing to Deloris' muscels and I believe that soon she will no longer need a walker.

She reminded me of how I need to be living my life, thanking God for all the big and little things that He is doing each and every day in my life. I am so grateful to be able to have spent the morning with this amazing woman of God.

I pray that you can sign up and Encounter what God is doing in Hilton Head in 2013.
